Two hours by car, or the same amount of time by Long Island Railroad, will transport you to Bayshore on Long Island’s South Shore, at which point your ferry will take you to your magical retreat on Fire Island.

At the main dock, which serves Ocean Beach, Ocean Bay Park, Seaview, Kismet, Atlantique/Dunewood, Saltaire and Fair Harbor, you can pass the time at Nicky's Clam Bar, a fishing town bar and restaurant within 50 feet of the ferry – great soup! There's also the Just Barge In ice cream shop and convenience store.
